So I had pneumonia! Last week had a bout of gastro which somehow ended with a mild case of pneumonia. What a year so far, feel like I've spent more time lying in a sick bed than doing any training.
Which is seriously starting to drive me mental.
I was feeling a lot better yesterday, and back at work today, so thought let's go back into it no time for sooking.
I've always wanted to box, and always had an excuse as to why I would be unable to. Being sick in bed for a week gave me the motivation required to get up and give it a go, and we did. My sister and i went to the local PCYC, to throw ourselves in the deepend and i fell hard! After a strong and start I was feeling alright but by the 30 minute mark my sister advised I should call it quits. It could have been the bright shade of white I'd turned or the fact that every breath was short, shallow and slightly painful.
To my regret I did I gave up after only 30minutes...........I'm a piker!
Now I need complete the next session working harder than ever before! Or I'll never live it down.

Dancing Dangerously!
Saw this on the news, thought it was good to see that the boys and girls protecting their countries still have a sense of humour

Been awhile.
So I've been a little slack of late, well roughly 3 weeks slack. Had a cyclone, some training improvements and a big dose of the man flu!
I'm still training but I really need to get more serious, my running is improving, however I need to start covering a few more k's and get serious with the cross training. I also need to incorporate some more strength sessions, I have 2 half marathons to choose from, both of which are off road racing which makes it a little nerve racking. Oh well pull the finger out and get cracking.
Had a cyclone week before last we here were lucky minor damage around the area nothing to full on. We lost power for 4 days but it was tiny price compared to what the poor buggers south of us received. It's Amazing just powerful these things are and when at category 4 the damn thing is 700ks across there's going to be trouble. I've seen footage and photos but have not seen any of the towns first hand though there is a chance over the next few months I'll be spending some time down there for work.
I really feel for them.
So with those two little paragraphs I'm off!

Phew.
So I've been hard at it again this week Gym, Running, Tried my hand at a metro-gaine which was pretty fun. Been feeling really good and even find myself thinking and day dreaming about running, whilst I'm supposed to be working . Maybe I have the bug who knows hahahaa. Or maybe it's just something else i can obsess about until i get all geared up. Then find a new hoppy.
Today I had my first run in with intervals and I thought I would die! Just a simple 10 x 30 second sprint followed by 1 min rest . WOW looked easy on paper. Not so easy in practice. Not quite what I'm used to but all in all good fun. Now to unwind and prepare for tomorrow!
